Bash At The Barn Scheduled For Saturday
Chatham’s Kraft Hockeyville organizers are planning a “Bash In The Barn” Saturday leading up to the possible announcement of an NHL preseason game in Chatham.
The event will begin at 1pm at Memorial Arena with a 3-on-3 road hockey tournament, running until 3pm. From 3:30-4:30pm, organizers will be hosting a skills competition, followed by a hockey clinic from 4:45pm to 5:45pm.
The day will also include a petting zoo and horse rides, as well as free snow cones and cotton candy for all in attendance between 1-4pm.
Throughout the day there will be entertainment by local music artists including Brooklyn Roebuck, Face For Radio, and The Chasers.
Only 3500 people will be admitted into Chatham’s Memorial Arena for the announcement on Hockey Night in Canada between 6pm and 7pm.
Organizers are hoping an even larger event will be coming to Memorial Arena in the form of an NHL preseason game following Friday’s announcement. Chatham’s Kraft Hockeyville bid has already secured $100,000 in arena upgrades for Memorial Arena.
