Thamesville’s Lucas Vanroboys was selected by the Hamilton Bulldogs in Saturday’s 2015 OHL Draft.

Vanroboys was selected by Hamilton in the 14th round, 268th overall in the OHL Priority Selection Draft.

A former Chatham-Kent Cyclones star, Vanroboys has spent the last two seasons in Connecticut playing for the South Kent Selects U16 team.

The team is a prep school program, which has numerous NCAA and professional alumni.

Vanroboys, a five-foot-six forward, has the chance to join fellow Thamesville resident and cousin Trent Fox with Hamilton.

Fox was traded to the Belleville Bulls midway through the 2014-2015 OHL season from the Erie Otters. Belleville later announced they’d be relocating to Hamilton for next season.
