Chatham’s Brendan Harrogate and the LaSalle Vipers can see the Sutherland Cup, but one huge hurdle remains as the local player, and his team will begin the Sutherland Cup final against the Caledonia Corvairs Wednesday.

Harrogate collected 5 goals and 3 assists in 7 Sutherland Cup games against the Elmira Sugar Kings, helping his LaSalle Vipers eliminate their semi-finals opponent, including a 3-1 game 7 victory.

In 23 total playoff games this season, Harrogate has 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points in 23 games.

The Corvairs are the defending Sutherland Cup champions.

The Sutherland Cup final will be a best-of-seven series beginning Wednesday night in Caledonia, when the Corvairs host LaSalle for a 7:30pm start.

The series will return to LaSalle Friday with a 7pm puck drop.

Harrogate played last season for the Chatham-Kent Cyclones, and was a 7th round selection of the OHL’s Mississauga Steelheads.
