DeKoning Signs With Legionnaires

Wallaceburg’s Alec DeKoning has signed with the GOJHL’s Sarnia Legionnaires. He was one of two players the team announced this week, along with Wyoming’s Eric Marsh.

DeKoning spent last season with the Lambton Jr. Sting Major Midget ‘AAA’ program where he scored 20 goals and added 25 assists in 45 games.

The five-foot-ten centreman was an Alliance Hockey All-Star, and represented the Alliance at the OHL Gold Cup scoring 6 points in 5 games in 2013-2014, but went undrafted in his Minor Midget season.

DeKoning was considered one of the top undrafted players in the province, and continued to impress this season finishing 6th in Alliance scoring, while also appearing in three games for the Sarnia Legionnaires this season.

Marsh, a defenseman, played for the Alvinston Flyers last season.
