Hawks Shock Tartans, Will Face Lancers

After falling to WDSS twice in the regular season, the CKSS Golden Hawks put together a full team effort to defeat higher ranked Wallaceburg Tartans 36-14 and advance to the LKSSAA Junior football final next week against the UCC Lancers.
In the opening quarter, Kier Cumming pounded the ground for CKSS, scoring on a 70-yard and 26-yard touchdown run.
In the game’s second half, Reese Richmond also scored a pair of touchdowns for the Golden Hawks, including a 3-yard run in the third quarter, and a 24-yard run in the 4th.
Conner Greenway had CKSS’ other touchdown, pulling in a 62-yard reception thrown by Casey Reaume. Reaume went 4-for-4 passing for 123 total yards.
Darian Wauthier went 5/5 in extra point converts, and also scored a rouge.
On the defensive side of the ball, Zach Lindley paced the Golden Hawks with 14 tackles, while Kier Cumming had 7, Jacob Dodman 6, and Brodie McWilliams 5 tackles. Brenden Bondy also had 5 tackles, and ran for 41-yards on an interception.
The LKSSAA final will take place Saturday, June 6 at 1pm at UCC.
