George Chuvalo at KAYO Event Saturday

Canadian boxing legend George Chuvalo will be a special guest at KAYO Boxing Club’s Olympic Style Amateur event this Saturday in Chatham at the W.I.S.H. Centre.

Chuvalo, thought to be pound for pound one of the best of his era and a Canadian icon, once fought unforgettable battles with Joe Frazier, George Foreman and Muhammad Ali.

The evening will feature live boxing matches from the local KAYO boxing team, a catered dinner with VIP ringside dinner tickets available, as well as a free concert from Soul Signature. Those in attendance will also have the chance to meet one of the premiere athletes to come from Canada.

The Kent Athletic Youth Organization aims to “aid our area youth through physical fitness”. Floyd Porter tells 99.1 CKXS, KAYO’s hopes and goals are to impress upon the area youth the need for positive physical activities not only for the specific sport but for their life long personal health and well being. The club helps local youth work as individuals to develop personal and achievable goals and also as team players working together for the betterment of the group. KAYO hopes that the youth will develop self-esteem, confidence, and leadership qualities.
