Travis Konecny Drafted By Philadelphia In First Round
Konecny, who captained the OHL’s Ottawa 67s last season, had 29 goals and 39 assists for 68 points in 60 regular season games, before adding 10 points in 5 playoff games for the 67s.
The Philadelphia Flyers moved up in the draft to select Konecny by trading their 29th overall, and 61st overall picks to the Toronto Maple Leafs who originally owned the draft position.
A former Chatham-Kent Cyclones standout, Konecny will attend Team Canada’s Summer Development Camp for the National Junior team this August.
He previously represented Canada winning bronze at the U18 World Championships, and gold at the Ivan Hlinka Classic.
