  • Wallaceburg’s Emily Van Damme and Tanner Cole are out west as the National Lacrosse Championships get underway in Saskatchewan this week.
  • NHL player Seth Griffith of Wallaceburg was back in town and his was carrying a Lacrosse stick. Griffith was helping out as an instructor on the first day of Lacrosse camp. Griffith played minor lacrosse in Wallaceburg and was drafted into the Jr. “A” Lacrosse League.
  • Joel Shepley wrapped up his rookie campaign in SR B Lacrosse in fine fashion as he was named the Defenseman of the year. Shepley played for the Wallaceburg Thrahsers.
  • The Chatham Under 13 Boys Attack Soccer team brough home gold medals from the Water’s Edge Soccer Tournament in Sarniaon the weekend. Ashton Van Helton was named MVP after not allowing a goal all tournament. The Attack beat Oakville Black 2-0 in the Championship.
  • Ritchie Barnes nailed a hole-in-one at Countryview Golf Course yesterday. Barnes aced the 123 yard sixth hole on the Gold Course. Barnes made his first hole in one almost one year ago on the same hole.
