Pool Sharks Compete at 2015 Swim Ontario Summer Festival

This past weekend, the Chatham Y Pool Sharks had 3 swimmers out of 5 qualified swimmers compete at the 2015 Swim Ontario Summer Festivals in London, Ontario at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. The meet was attended by teams from across the province and is for swimmers 13 & Under who achieve a Provincial Festival time standard either short course or long course.

The 3 Pool Shark swimmers represented the club well by finishing 29th overall (44 points) out of 78 clubs at the meet. Genevieve Sasseville, David Tran and Madeleine Tran all had Top 8 finishes in their individual races. Madeleine Tran also won gold in 50 Back and silver in 100 Back both in the Girls 10 & Under category. Genevieve Sasseville won bronze in 50 free in the Girls 12 yr. Old category.

While at the meet, Genevieve was able to achieve her third Age Group Championships time standard in 50 Free to go with the previous two AGC standards in 50 Fly and 100 Fly. By getting her third AGC time standard, Genevieve will be traveling to Quebec City to compete at the 2015 Canadian Age Group Championships July 30 – August 3.

Madison Broad will be the next Pool Shark competing by attending the 2015 Ontario Provincial Championships in Nepean from July 2 – 5.
