Van Rycheghem Commits To NCAA’s Stetson University

Kent Bridge’s Luke Van Rycheghem has committed to taking the next step in his baseball career, by accepting an NCAA Division I scholarship to play for the Stetson University Hatters.

Van Rycheghem who is entering his grade 12 year at UCC in Chatham, still has another season to play before joining the Hatters.

He spent the summer playing for Canada’s National Junior team in their annual Dominican League Series.

The catcher, also plays for the Ontario Blue Jays organization, one of the top programs in Canada for producing NCAA and Major League prospects.

Eligible for the 2016 MLB Draft, Van Rycheghem is already considered one of the top Canadian prospects in the draft.

The Stetson University Hatters are members of the Atlantic Sun Conference, playing out of DeLand, Florida. The Hatters finished the 2015 season with a 29-30 record overall, and a 12-9 record in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
