Canadiens Harpoon Lakers
Jackson Gray’s first goal of the season came at the 8:17 mark of the first period.
That’s about all the Wallaceburg Lakers had to celebrate on home ice in a tough encounter with the Lakeshore Canadiens on Wednesday night.
Lakers faithful exited Memorial Arena still in search of the first win of the season following the 8-1 loss. The Lakers also lost their head coach and GM Mark Swayze after a heated debate in a rough third period. Swazye and Lakers forward Justin Lindsay were both assessed game misconducts due to Abuse Of Official penalties. Lakeshore’s Nick Tavolieri-Essex was also ejected in the third.
Tavolieri-Essex opened the scoring for the Canadiens who saw eight goals from eight different skaters. Colin Sartor, Dylan Kolic, Steven Sartor, Guy Lavesque, Brandon Ireland, JJ Percy and Jack Bartlett also scored for Lakeshore.
The Lakers will have a week off to prepare for their next game – an encounter with the also winless Alvinston Flags next Wednesday night in the ‘Burg.
