Nationals Edge Maroons
Auston Thompson and Connor Koviak scored Chatham’s goals in the loss. Ian Faubert assisted on both, including Koviak’s shorthanded goal late in the third which pulled the Maroons within one.
In net, Parker Butler had a huge night for the Chatham Maroons stopping 49 of the 52 shots he faced.
The win moved the London Nationals into 2nd in the GOJHL’s Western Conference with a 5-2-1-0 record, while the loss dropped the Maroons to a tie for last, with a 2-3-0-1 record, although Chatham does have games in hand on St. Marys, who sits with an identical record.
The two teams face each other again Wednesday night in London.
