– The Dresden Kings will be hosting the Amherstberg Admirals tonight in Great Lakes Jr C play. There are two other games on the schedule as the Wallaceburg Lakers travel to Lakeshore to play the Canadiens while the Wheatley Sharks are in Alvinston against the Flyers.
– In GOJHL play St Thomas beat Chatham 6-3. Austin Thompson scored twice for the Maroons and Hunter Burk scored the other goal. Port Lambton’s Brendan Johnston got the start for the Maroons, his first start since signing with the team after being released by the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires.
– Thamesville’s Trent Fox scored a shorthanded goal for the Hamilton Bulldogs as they beat the Niagara Ice Dogs 4-3 in overtime. Travis Konecny of Clachan had three assists and was named the first star as his Ottawa 67’s beat the Windsor Spitfires 4-3 in overtime. Wallaceburg’s Matt Rabideau is the Assistant General Manager of the North Bay Battalion, they beat Oshawa last night 5-1.
– In Kent High school 12 man football action CK and UCC played to a 13-13 tie.
– The Wallaceburg Tartans got 15 points from Ashleigh Leblanc and 14 points from Brett Fischer as they beat the UCC Lancers 48-41 in Sr. Girls “AA-AAAA’ play. Maddy Pearson scored 11for UCC while Kennedy King scored 10. The Jr. Tartans also bounced UCC by a 57-26 score thanks to 16 points from Lecacy Blackbird and 15 points from Keana Riley.
– The Lambton Kent Cardinals had a complete team effort to beat St FX 43-14 as Shae Sewell and Brooke Marchand led the scoring with 6 points each. ESPC got 12 points from Danielle Lucier as they beat Ridgetown 32-24. Sophia Perpina scored 17 for Ridgetown. In Jr. Girls “A” play Ridgetown had three scorers in double digits as they beat the Pain Court Patriots 51-19. Ann Ross scored 16 points, Brooke Anderson netted 12 and Dana Beecroft hit for 11 points in the win.
