– The Wallaceburg Lakers are still looking for that elusive first win in the Great Lakes Jr C loop as they host the Alvinston Flyers tonight at Memorial Arena with a 7:30 puck drop. Last night the Essex 73’s beat the Lakers 8-1 as Trevor Waller scored the lone goal for the Lakers.
– The Pain Court Patriotes increased their record in the Sr. Girls “A” Basketball League to 8-1 as they beat Blenheim 28-20. Danielle Lucier scored nine points to lead the Patriotes while Dez Cloutier matched the nine for the Bobcats. The Lambton Kent Cardinals are 6-2 after beating North Lambton 35-17 thanks to eight points from Morgan Grant. Chatham Christian got 14 points from Amy Koomans as they beat St FX. 36-15.
– In Jr Girls “A” play Alex Sewell scored 16 points for Lambton Kent as they beat North Lambton 37-14. Lydia Hall poured in a game high 20 points for Blenheim as they beat Pain Court 44-29, Abby Pepper and Jaime Jackins each scored six for Pain Court. Ridgetown bounced Tilbury 40-22. Lauren Edwards scored 11 points for Ridgetown while Tori Gyles scored nine for the Titans.
– It was a sister act for the St Clair Saints Cross Country Team as Tori and Beth Horrobin each received silver medals. The Horrobin sisters ran for St Clair at the Seneca College Cross Country meet on the weekend. Tori was clocked in 25 minutes for the 5km race while Beth turned in a time of 25:17.
