Faubert, Johnston Named Players of the Month

Chatham Maroons forward Ian Faubert, and netminder Brendan Johnston were honoured by the GOJHL being named the Western Conference Offensive Player and Goaltender of the Month for October respectively.

In 10 games in October, Faubert, who hails from Wheatley and is in his overage season with the Maroons, had 6 goals and 13 assists for 19 points.

Faubert leads the Chatham Maroons with 28 points through 16 games this season.

Johnston, a Port Lambton product, returned to the Chatham Maroons earlier this season after being reassigned by the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires.

Johnston went 5-1 in October with his only loss coming in relief, and posted a 2.33 GAA and .933 save percentage, the best statistics of his career.

Chatham travels to play the Leamington Flyers this Thursday before hosting the LaSalle Vipers Sunday.
