Hawks Win LKSSAA Championship

In front of a home crowd, the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks senior boys volleyball team captured their second straight LKSSAA volleyball title Friday night.

Facing their cross town rivals the UCC Lancers, CKSS took the four set victory, 23-25, 25-23, 26-24, and 25-12.

The win advances the Golden Hawks to the SWOSSAA final Wednesday, but ends the UCC Lancers season after OFSAA re-categorized merging ‘AAAA’ and ‘AAA’ into one ‘AAA’ bracket this season.

CKSS has won OFSAA medals in the past three seasons including two golds.

Earlier in the night, UCC upset CKSS in the Junior Boys LKSSAA final, sweeping the match 25-22, 25-13, 25-22.
