The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Junior Girls’ basketball team went undefeated once again in tournament play, this time winning the Tartan Invitational in Wallaceburg, for the Hawks’ fourth tournament victory of the season.

Friday night had the CKSS girls facing Sarnia St. Pats, where they came out strong and won 48-41. Next up the Golden Hawks defeated John McGregor 44-25. In the battle for the championship, CKSS faced the host Wallaceburg, where they played strong the entire game, winning 52-34.

The Hawks were avenging for a loss Thursday, only their second of the season, at the hands of the same Wallaceburg Tartans.

Top scorers over the weekend included Jessica Jordan with 32-points, Maggie Denys with 23, and Taryn Dudley with 22-points.

CKSS’ tournament win improves their record to 25 wins and 2 losses, including 4 of 5 tournament championships. They have one more league game after which they will host their LKSSAA semi-final game Thursday Novovember 12th.
