Thamesville’s Trent Fox is making a bid to be a second year selection in the NHL Draft after being passed over last year.

Fox, who plays for the OHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, is ranked 97th overall by TSN’s Craig Button including all positions and European players. The list ranks the top 100 prospects available for the 2016 NHL draft.

Trent Fox, whose older brother Dane Fox plays in the ECHL and AHL, and is signed by the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, split last season between the Belleville Bulls and Erie Otters.

In 17 games with Hamilton this season, the six-foot-three centre has 7 goals and 8 assists.

The top player in Button’s TSN list was Austin Matthews, who is playing professionally in Switzerland this season.

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith was the last local player selected in the NHL draft, being selected in his second year of eligibility by the Boston Bruins.
