Wallaceburg PeeWees 13-0

wmhalakersFriday night marked the 13th straight win for the Wallaceburg Subway Peewee team giving them a 13-0 league record.  This was the second time facing Petrolia this season and it once again was a tough challenge; even more this time around.

The 1st period saw both teams trading chances and even an Oiler disallowed goal that was ruled kicked in.  Dodging that bullet Wallaceburg managed to come out on top with a 1-0 lead after the period with a goal from Zander Cogghe which would eventually become the game winner.

In the 2nd period Wallaceburg turned things up out shooting Petrolia and creating more chances including an end to end rush by defenseman Caleb Tulloch that ended up with a shot on net and the puck rolling over the line.  Another goal; the third of the night by Wallaceburg came off the stick of Josh Snelgrove who made an awesome play at the offensive blue line to deke out the defense as well as the goalie.

Down by three goals Petrolia had no quit in them and managed to out shoot Wallaceburg 10-3, unfortunately for them the 3rd period (and the night) belonged to Aiden MacDonald who stood on his head and making at least 5 or 6 highlight reel saves.  With his performance he managed to stop all 21 shots by Petrolia giving him “Player of the Game” honours which he shared with Caleb Tulloch for an outstanding Defensive/Offensive game.

Once again another solid game by the defense and an aggressive game by the offense to seal the 3-0 win and defend the streak.  Points on the sheet tonight as follows: Josh Snelgrove (1G 1A), Zander Cogghe (1G), Caleb Tulloch (1G), Ewan MacDonald (1A),  Quinlan Fields (1A) and Tymmiecka Johnson-Greenbird (1A).

Next weekend, Wallaceburg has two tough opponents in Mooretown Red (Friday in W’burg) and Dresden White (Saturday in Dresden).
