Flyers Down Maroons Again

The first place Leamington Flyers handed the Chatham Maroons their second straight loss Thursday night.

After beating Chatham 4-1 Sunday, the Flyers handed Chatham a 5-2 loss on Thursday.

Liam Hogan opened the scoring for the Flyers in the first, but Chatham would hold pace early. Connor Koviak scored his 15th goal, and 41st point in 40 games this season on the powerplay. Austin Thompson and Ian Faubert picked up the assists.

Leamington came out firing in the second period with Luke Sanko and Derek Elliott scoring.

Declan Conway would pull Chatham within one, scoring on an unassisted effort to send the game to the third 3-2.

In the third, Leamington would turn on the burners again with Sanko and Mitchell Crevatin scoring.

Parker Butler made 38 saves for the Chatham Maroons in the loss.

The Maroons have ten games remaining this season. Next up for Chatham is the LaSalle Vipers at home this Sunday, January 31.
