Griffith, Montour Named AHL All-Stars

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith and Tilbury’s Brandon Montour will both compete in the American Hockey League (AHL) All-Star game and skills competition January 31 and February 1 in Syracuse, New York.

Griffith, a 5th round pick of the NHL’s Boston Bruins plays for the Providence Bruins. He was the league’s December Player of the Month. In 25 games, Griffith has 10 goals and 30 points. He recently had a two game recall to the NHL where he had an assist.

Montour, a 2nd round pick of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks is one of the AHL’s top scoring defenders and rookies. Skating for the San Diego Gulls, Brandon Montour has 6 goals and 28 points in 30 games this season.

On January 31, Griffith and Montour will participate in the 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Skills Competition at 8pm, where competitors from each division will test themselves in seven skill events.

The following day the duo, Griffith who will play for the Atlantic Division, and Montour with the Pacific Division, will play in a round robin event against the four Divisional teams, with the top two teams playing a championship game.
