Local Sports Briefs: January 11
- The woes of the Wallaceburg Lakers continued last night in Jr C hockey action…The Lakers took a 9-1 whoopin’ at the hands of the Amherstburg Admirals. Chris Hall with the lone Lakers goal.
- Mooretown edged Dresden with a third period display. Dresden led after 2 then it was all Mooretown in the 3rd thanks to a pair from Nolan Riley, both set up by Ben Morrison
- The Chatham Maroons were at their best last night with a 6-1 win over St Thomas in Jr B play…The Leamington Flyers downed Sarnia 3-1 while The Lambton Shores Predators skated to a 3 all tie with StrathroyClachan’s Travis Konecny is a welcome addition to the Sarnia Sting. Travis picked up an assist as Sarnia downed the Soo Grey Hounds 5-1 last night. Konecny debuted with a hat trick for the Sting earlier in the weekend
- The Windsor Spitfires doubled up Oshawa 4-2, a couple of bad beatings as Erie spanked Sudbury 8-2 and Ottawa did the same thing to North Bay…Both Kitchener and Guelph picked up wins last night as well.
