It appears Brendan Johnston’s stint with the OHL’s Flint Firebirds is over, and the netminder will return to the Chatham Maroons to finish out the season.

Johnston spent over a month with the Flint Firebirds after being traded to the team by the Windsor Spitfires.

In that time, Johnston appeared in 3 games, collecting a 1-2 record, with a 3.73 GAA and 0.873 save percentage.

His return to the will be much welcomed, as the team has been riding rookie Parker Butler in Johnston’s absence, and utilizing affiliate players as his backup.

Johnston was the GOJHL Western Conference goaltender of the month in November before getting the call from his new OHL team.

In 10 games with the Maroons this season, the 6’1″, 1997 born goaltender was 6-4-0, with a 3.21 GAA and 0.910 save percentage.
