Hawks Headed To Girls Final

The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks defeated Sarnia St. Patrick’s 9-0 Thursday in the LKSSAA senior girls ‘AAA’ hockey semi-final.

The Golden Hawks will face the winner of next Tuesday’s UCC Lancers versus Northern Vikings semi-final in a Wednesday LKSSAA final.

Thursday at Memorial Arena, Sydney Sabourin and Haley Smith paced the Golden Hawks with 2 goals and 2 assists each.

Megan Hakr also scored a pair for the Hawks, while Payton Sabourin had a goal and 2 assists. Single goals went to Shayna Daly and Ray Spotton, while Brooke Foster chipped in with 2 assists.

Marandee Hunter and Mikayla Demaiter shared the shutout.

In the ‘A-AA’ semi-final, Ridgetown defeated SCITS 4-1, with Adrianna Long contributing to all 4 Ridgetown Royals goals, scoring 2 goals and assisting on the other two. Lauren Edwards and Alli Oliphant had the other RDHS goals.

Dresden also played in a LKSSAA semi-final, losing to LCCVI (Petrolia) 5-2. Megan Morehouse and Kasidy Dewulf scored for the Dresden.
