After multiple seasons of uncertainty, and issues plaguing Dresden Raceway, it appears the harness racing track will get a reprieve from the troubles it has faced for the next half decade.

Dresden Raceway received a pledge from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), that the OLG will help support racing in Dresden for at least the next five seasons.

“We had a great meeting today with OLG…It looks like there will be racing at Dresden Raceway for a minimum five years,” wrote Dresden Raceway on their Facebook page. “Harness Racing is alive and well in Ontario!”

The Dresden Raceway – Harness Racing has been operated by the Dresden Agricultural Society for the past two seasons, after the track was forced to break free from Windsor Raceway when the Windsor track fell victim to government cuts.

Dresden Raceway’s season typically runs from May until September each year.
