Can the Chatham Maroons put the nail in the coffin tonight and move on in the Jr B playoffs? The Maroons host the St. Thomas Stars tonight at Memorial Arena for game 5 in the series. The Maroons look to join the Leamington Flyers and the London Nationals you both have advanced.
The Amherstburg Admirals look to even their Jr C finals series tonight with the Essex 73’s at home tonight. The 73’s with a 1 game to none lead in the series.
The Calgary Flames with an overtime win last night in the NHL but it may have cost them 2 of their best players. Both TJ Brodie and center Sam Bennett left the game last night with what the club is calling upper body injuries. Upon looking at the replays it may have been a cross check to the kidney area that took Brodie out of the game. The Flames did get a 3-2 win over Nashville in O-T.
OMHA playoff action this weekend will have the Dresden Midget Reps hosting Tweed on the weekend and The Wallaceburg Minor Midget BB Finals kick off at the Walpole Island Sports Complex. Lakers hosting the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils
Chatham’s Aimee Wilmot will be looking for her 4th National Boxing title when she travels to Quebec City to compete in the Canadian National Boxing Championships at the end of the month
The Chatham Kent Cougars football organization will be well represented at the Ontario Prospects Challenge coming up in Hamilton in April. Kicker/punter Patrick Ezewski of Wallaceburg will just one of 4 players from the Cougars program
Tilbury’s Aaron Norg picked up the bronze in the pool at OFSAA in Windsor. Norg swimming in the 50m freestyle event.
