It looks like the Wallaceburg Lakers will have new owners. Lakers President Jim McCrea says a vote was held over the weekend to look at an offer from a group of investors. According to McCrea the investors have agreed to pay off the club’s past debts and are looking to inject funds into the club to move the team forward. Of course the sale of the club must be approved by the league. The identity of the investors has yet to be revealed.
Tj Brodie had a goal last night as the Calgary Flames dumped the Arizona Coyotes 5-2 in the NHL last night.
The OHL Playoffs continue, The Windsor Spitfires now trail 3 – Nothing in their series with the Kitchener Rangers. The Rangers with a 2-1 win last night to take a commanding lead in the series. The London Knights lead the Owen Sound Attack 2 games to 1 after defeating the Attack 5-1 last night. The Sarnia Sting hope to make a fight of it against the Saulte Ste Marie Greyhounds tonight. The Sting on the back end of the series 2 games to none with the Hounds. And Matt Rabideau and the North Bay Battalion will be in Peterborough tonight to play the Petes, the series between the Petes and the Battalion is square at 1 game apiece
Wallaceburg’s Madison Broad is gearing up for the Olympic time trials in Scarborough. Maddy will be competing in the 100 and 200 back stroke. The time trials are set for April 5th
