Carolyn Prins Leaps To OFSAA Gold

Chatham Christian’s Carolyn Prins took home OFSAA gold for the second straight year after the local track and field athlete won gold in Windsor on the opening day of the 2016 OFSAA Track and Field Championships.

Prins jumped 11.94m in the Junior girls triple jump to capture OFSAA gold Thursday.

Her winning jump was 28cm farther than the second place competitor.

Camden Fischer of Wallaceburg finished 10th in midget boys shot put, while CKSS’ Pierce Johnson was 14th in senior boys javelin in the two other field finals.

Several other local competitors were in action in day one in preliminary events.

OFSAA continues this weekend in Windsor.
