Raaymakers Among Leaders At NHL Combine

Chatham’s Joseph Raaymakers was among the leaders in many categories this past week at the NHL Central Scouting Draft Combine.

In preparation for the upcoming draft, 114 of the best prospects, including 9 goaltenders from around the globe were invited to the combine.

Raaymakers finished in the top 25, including ahead of most top 10 prospects in 6 different fitness tests. He was the only goaltender with four top 10 finishes in fitness tests.

In the pro agility test, also known as the 5-10-5, Raaymakers finished 5th and 7th running left and right.

He was 10th overall in both the VO2 Max test, and right hand grip strength.

Raaymakers, a goaltender who plays in the OHL for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds was 23rd in the vertical jump, and 25th in the Wingate Fatigue test.

Raaymakers trains locally with Athletes Fuel Strength and Conditioning in Chatham.

The NHL Draft will be held June 24-25 in Buffalo, New York.
