Chatham Maroons Release Exhibition Schedule

The countdown is on for Chatham Maroons fans.

The Jr. B club has announced two exhibition games in the coming weeks, in preparation for the 2016-17 regular season.

The new-look Maroons will host St. Thomas on Tuesday, August 30th. Chatham welcomes Sarnia Thursday, September 1. Both games are at 7pm from Memorial Arena.

The Maroons are losing many graduating players, while recently announcing the return of newly named captain Steven Beenackers as well as forwards Austin Thompson, Blair Derynck and Nolan VanderBoorn, as well as D-men Michael Douglas, Aaron Jacobs and Cory Bussing, joining high profile local goaltender Brendan Johnston.

Brian Verbeek was named the new head coach of the squad heading into the upcoming season.

Chatham finished fourth in regular season play with a 32-16-1-1 record last year and were eliminated in the second round by Leamington.
