Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith has found a new home, closer to home.
Reports indicate the 23-year-old has been claimed off waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Griffith was placed on waivers by Boston following training camp. Griffith did not make the Bruins NHL line-up out of camp.
Seth had a brilliant year in the AHL, with 77 points in 57 games for the Providence Bruins – 24 goals and 53 assists.
In two brief NHL stints, Griffith has amassed six goals and five assists (11 points) through 34 games with Boston.
It is not yet completely known what Toronto’s intentions are with the Wallaceburg native. The Leafs are expected to make a corresponding roster move by the end of the day.
If the Leafs want to send him to the minors, he has to be put on waivers by them, so another team can pick him up.
He was a product of the London Knights I heard, the Hunter brothers knew, know him well I bet.if it doesn’t pan out with leafs he either catches on elsewhere or regains his MOJO with the marlies.
