Chatham’s Brooke MacKinnon has committed to play NCAA Division I golf for the University of Hartford next season.

The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks grade 12 verbally committed to the Hartford Hawks two weeks ago, before signing her NLI this week.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Brooke to the Hawk Nation family and the women’s golf program here at Hartford,” said University of Hartford Hawks head coach Pete Stankevich.

“I’m confident she will do great things here and will be an impact player for us right away. She’s not only a great player, but she’s a tremendous student as well. I know we’re going to see some great things from Brooke over the next 4 years, both on the golf course and in the classroom.”

MacKinnon, a Maple City Country Club member in Chatham, has competed on the Jamieson Junior Golf Tour, with the Essex-Kent regional team, and on a variety of Golf Association of Ontario events, seeing her ranked among the top 20 in the Province.
