CKSS Junior Boys Win Silver
The CKSS Junior Basketball team won an impressive Silver medal at the 16 team Windsor Riverside Rebel Classic tournament. The silver was highlighted by displaying incredible toughness beating Windsor’s powerhouse Holy Names in the semis in front of a hostile crowd.
In their opening game, CKSS defeated Massey 82-36. Douglass Labadie paced the scoring with 18-points, while Julian Ferrell had 14, Drew Koluk 11, Bennett Schaffer 10, and Isaac MacDonald 10.
Facing L’Essor next, the Golden Hawks continued their strong play winning 65-38. Labadie had 28-points, followed by JJ Szusz with 10 and Ethan Jordan with 9-points.
In their upset over Holy Names, Drew Koluk topped CKSS scorers with 22, Ferrell had 14, Jordan 9, and Schaffer 8.
In the final, Chatham-Kent lost their only game of the tournament to Herman, 68-38. Nacho Hernandez and Jordan each had 8-points, Koluk 7, and Szusz 5.
