Lakers’ Cory Lucier Dealt To Dresden

corylucierThe Dresden Jr Kings took to Twitter over the weekend to announce the acquisition of Wallaceburg’s Cory Lucier.

A nice depth move for the Kings heading into the final weeks of the regular season, Lucier brings versatility with the ability to be an offensive threat and a capable defenceman.

Lucier, a local lacrosse phenom with great stick-handling skills, has 4 goals and 10 assists through 2o games this season. He’s played for the Lakers throughout his junior career, totaling 14 goals and 29 assists (43 points) in 90 regular season games.

Lakers GM Ritch Kanally told 99.1 CKXS that Cory requested a trade, mired in another losing season with the Lakers.

“This being his third year with us I felt it was only fair to honour his request,” said Kanally. “We wish him all the best.”

The Lakers dealt Lucier in exchange for cash considerations.

Cory will see his first taste of the Jr C / PJHL playoffs with the Kings in the new year. The Lakers sit out of the playoff picture with a record of 1-23-1.
