Madison Lalonde Commits To Play Hockey At Ryerson
“It feels amazing to continue to play hockey and earn a university degree,” said Lalonde of her commitment. “Ryerson has an outstanding undergraduate program, and they rank #1 among graduates who land jobs in their field of study within 12 months of graduation. Coach Haley, Coach Jennings and the Ryerson team have made me feel welcome from the beginning of this selection process.”
Lalonde was a standout the last few seasons for the Chatham Outlaws Midget ‘AA’ team. She’ll join fellow Outlaws and UCC alumni Lauren Nicholson and Sydney Authier on the Ryerson Rams roster.
Playing with Syd (Authier) and Lo (Nicholson) is going to be great,” added Lalonde of playing with her former teammates. “We’ve always been close friends, we’ve shared some successes playing together in Chatham and I’m hoping that we can share some more at the OUA level.”
Lalonde, alongside Nicholson, were the Chatham Outlaws Heart Award winners in 2015-2016. Lalonde was also team captain for the Outlaws last year.
Originally planning to go the college route, Lalonde scored more than a point per game last season in both high school and Midget hockey in Chatham.
