Opportunity Knocks For Griffith
When Seth Griffith came to the Florida Panthers this season from Toronto, it was all about a new opportunity for the 5’9″ forward.
“I’m happy I landed here in Florida. It’s a big opportunity for me here. I’m really excited for my future,” Griffith said in an NHL.com interview after being claimed off waivers by Florida.
Now, that opportunity is knocking as Griffith spent the weekend on the Florida Panthers top line alongside future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr and Aleksander Barkov.
In his first game on the line, the Panthers beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-2, with his line combining for 4-points.
Griffith himself set up Barkov’s goal to open the scoring.
“Coming to a new team and guys saying that they believe in you, it goes a long way with your confidence as well,” said Wallaceburg’s Griffith following the win. “It’s easier said than done though, you have to come here and work hard every day, that’s just what I’m trying to do. Just soak it all in and try to get better every day.”
Griffith and the Panthers are back in action Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild.
