Wildcats Win Two Out Of Three

On December 10th the Chatham Kent Wildcats Bantam girl’s team played in the Windsor Valiant’s Invitational, held at the University of Windsor. In this tournament’s 3 game format, the Wildcats came away with a 2 and 1 record. Chatham-Kent-Wildcats-Logo

In their first game of the day the Wildcats posted a 59-28 win over the Sarnia Valhalla Bantam girl’s team. Claire Cox led the way with 20 points, Elliot Cowan added 14 points, 12 boards and 5 steals and Marissa Beselaere had 8 points and 6 steals.

In the 2nd game of the day the Wildcat Bantam Girls played the tough Windsor Valiants Bantam team. The Valiants were gold medal winners in division 2 of last years Ontario Cup. The Wildcats hung in tough for 3 quarters before the Valiants were able to pull away in the 4th quarter for a 44 to 31 victory. Elliot Cowan led the Wildcats with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Marissa Beselaere added 6 points, 8 boards and 5 steals and Solara Howe scored 5 points.

In the final game of the day the Wildcats posted at 43 to 16 win over the Windsor Warriors Bantam girl’s team. Briyah Baylis led the way with 9 points, going 3 of 3 from the 3 point line. Jillian Vickery added 8 points and Elliot Cowan 5 points. Rounding out the scoring were Sara Turner, Marissa Beselaere and Melissa Pardy each with 4 points.

Next up the Wildcat Bantam girls will be playing in the Can- Am Girls Basketball Tournament on December 27th in Warren, Michigan.
