High School Sports Hit The Break
A mandatory stop in the LKSSAA schedule came into effect Thursday, and runs until the completion of high school exams, which culminate February 1.
This week, Chatham-Kent Secondary School defeated the UCC Lancers in a 5-game thriller, including a 15-13 final in game 5, to capture the LKSSAA midget girls volleyball title.
In senior boys basketball, Wallaceburg remains undefeated, with a 6-0 record in Tier 2, while JMSS sits second in the Tier 1 standings with a 6-1 record. Wallaceburg is also a perfect 4-0 at the Junior boys Tier 2 level, while CKSS sits second in the Junior boys Tier 1 loop with a 6-1 record.
Wallaceburg and CKSS look to be the teams to beat in girls curling with 5-1 and 4-0 records respectively, while Ridgetown sits atop the boys standings at 5-0.
In girls hockey, CKSS sits in first at 4-0, while Lambton-Kent holds first on the boys side at 4-1.
Volleyball rolls on as well, with UCC and CKSS battling in out for first at the AAA level, and JMSS as the top local team in senior girls AA. Chatham Christian is a perfect 9-0 in single A.
UCC and CKSS hold identical records atop the Junior girls AAA standings, while Lambton-Kent holds first in the Junior girls A loop.
