Maroons Continue To Remake Roster
The Maroons have added their second OHLer in a month by acquiring Jake O’Donnell, as well as prolific GOJHL scorer Brendan D’Agostino.
O’Donnell, a 1998 born defenseman addresses a blueline many see as the Maroons weak point. O’Donnell, who stands six-foot-two, split the season between the Kingston Fontenacs and Mississauga Steelheads, playing 20 games without registering a point.
O’Donnell has 72 OHL games to his resume and also played 42 GOJHL games with Sarnia in 2014-2015.
D’Agostino was the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Offensive Player of the Month in September, and currently sits third in provincial scoring with 65 points in 33 games with the Thorold Blackhawks. D’Agostino, also a 1998 birth year, has two seasons of Junior A experience in the OJHL and NOJHL, and was a draft pick of the North Bay Battalion in 2014.
To make room for these players, the Maroons sent forward Josh Barraclough to the Sarnia Legionnaires and Cale Markham to the Lambton Shores Predators.
O’Donnell and D’Agostino join other newcomers including Noah Bushnell and Ethan Sarfati, as well as returnee Teddy McGeen.
