Blades Push Kings To The Brink
Dresden hit the scoreboard first as Kyle Hachey scored, assisted by Steven Funk and Brock Daugherty, a lead they’d hold into the second intermission.
In the third period however, Blenheim came alive.
Kier Cumming tied things up for the Blenheim Blades on the powerplay finshing off an opportunity from Matt Clark and Brayden Hopkins.
Minutes later, Clark scored one of his own with Dustin Maines and Austin Bentley picking up helpers.
With momentum heading their way, Bentley scored from Maines and Clark only two minutes later.
Clark’s goal and two assist performance was enough to see him named the games first star.
Eric Stewardson turned away 20 shots in the win.
Game six will take place Wednesday at 7:30pm in Dresden. Game seven will be Thursday at 7pm in Blenheim, if necessary.
