Maroons Beat Top Seeded Vipers In OT

The Chatham Maroons defeated the first place LaSalle Vipers 5-4 in overtime, continuing to move toward the top spot in the GOJHL’s Western Conference.

Brendan D`Agostino scored the game winner just over a minute into the extra frame to lift the Maroons to the victory.

The win gives Chatham 71 points through 47 games, good for second overall, while the Vipers have 76 points in 49 games.

Austin Thompson also scored a pair for the Maroons, while Noah Bushnell and Alec Mackenzie had the other Chatham Maroons goals. Thompson leads the Chatham Maroons with 32 goals.

Kevin Gursoy and Cole Dezainde had two assists, and Brendan Johnston made 27 saves in the win.

Former Chatham Maroons defender Dede Cato also had two assists.

Chatham has three games remaining in their schedule, next facing the Sarnia Legionnaires Thursday on the road.
