Bantam Fillies Win Provincial Bronze

This past weekend the Kent County Fillies Bantam C girls hockey team won Bronze at OWHA Provincials Tournament in Toronto.

After round robin play the team finished first advancing them to the quarterfinals. During quarterfinals they played the Bancroft Jets. Heading into the third they were down 2-1, however Kent County battled back to tie the game and with a minute left the Fillies scored for the win.

In semi-finals the team played a hard fought game but lost 3-1 to Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds.

During the bronze metal match the team dominated and finished the tournament with a 7-2 win over Sault Ste Marie Wildcats to take home the bronze metal.

The Kent County Fillies Bantam Team had a very successful season with a record of 45 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie.

They also won the St. Thomas Panther on the Prowl and the Walter Gretzky Brantford tournament as well.

Team was coached by Derek Fox, Rebehak Coll, Michael Babcock, and Jessica Raine.
