Dresden Sports Hall of Fame
The best in Dresden sports will be honoured tonight with the annual Dresden Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Tonight’s event, being held at Lambton Kent Composite School, will see a number of names added to the Hall.
Male athlete is Greg Dreveny, female athlete is Holly Law-Dodd, and the Walter McFadden Memorial Award for Athlete of the Year goes to Lauren Nicholson.
The 1968 PeeWee OMHA championship team is also being inducted, along with Brian Chinnick in the Legend category, Bob North as Builder, and new this year the Lynn Martin Memorial Award will be presented posthumously to Bob Everitt.
NHL Hall of Famer Brad Park is the evening’s guest speaker at tonight’s Dresden Sports Hall of Fame ceremony.
Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988, Park is considered one of the best defencemen of his generation.
A former New York Ranger, Boston Bruin and Detroit Red Wing, Brad was named to nine consecutive all-star teams.
Tickets are $40, the event starts at 6pm in the LKCS Auditorium.
