Chatham-Kent Secondary School’s Mattea Deleary will play volleyball next season at the OCAA level after choosing Fanshawe College.

Deleary has been an integral part of the CKSS senior girls volleyball team, and also played club volleyball for the South County Bandits this past winter.

“I have watched Mattea for 2 years, at 17U she was a very fast middle who could score points, at 18U she moved to the outside where she proved to be able to score points and defend with the best teams in the province,” wrote Fanshawe women’s volleyball coach Sean Pellow. “More than that, she brings a quiet determination to be the best player and best person in the gym at all times; there is no quit in this recruit.”

A right side hitter with her Bandits team, Deleary can play a variety of positions on the court, and will study Early Childhood Leadership.

Deleary also competed in track and field this year at CKSS, qualifying for OFSAA West Regionals.
