Atom Outlaws Win Gold In Oakville
To open their tournament, the Outlaws shutout the Oakville Hornets 3-0. Isabella Raspburg opened the scoring, followed by a pair of goals from Meghan Fife, with assists going to Addison Arnold (2), Emily Harper and Catie Pink.
Chatham followed up their opening win with a dominating 10-0 victory over the Aurora Panthers.
Meghan Fife had two goals and an assist. Bria Bacik scored a pair, and added two assists, Catie Pink had a goal and three assists, and Addison Arnold and Jocalin Hastings scored a goal, and added a pair of assists each to lead the way. Arionna Hopkins had a goal and an assist, while Paytyn Logan-Whiteye had the other Chatham goal, and Isabella Reinisch (2), Emily Harper, Libby Pink, Tessa Vandehogen, and Ava Meriano had assists.
Game three saw the Chatham Outlaws play to a tight 2-0 win over the Toronto Leaside Wildcats. Paytyn Logan-Whiteye and Libby Pink each had goals, while Mya Summers recorded her third straight shutout.
In the semi-final, Chatham again shutout their opponent, defeating the North Halton Twisters 4-0. Meghan Fife, Arionna Hopkins, Bria Bacik, and Libby Pink provided the offense, with Summers again taking the shutout.
Finally, in the gold medal game, the Outlaws fought to a dramatic 2-1 win over the North Simcoe Capitals.
With the game tied 1-1 off a Libby Pink goal in the second period, Chatham and North Simcoe were tied late in the third, until Meghan Fife broke the tie with 33 seconds remaining in the third period to send Chatham to the win and championship.
