The Chatham Diamonds won a trio of Ontario titles over the weekend, including the Minor Bantam OBA ‘A’, Minor Peewee ‘B’, and the Minor Mosquito ‘A’ championships.

Chatham Diamonds opened the tournament against Richmond Hill defeating them 6-3. Deni Goure led the offence with 2 doubles and 3 runs scored. Caley Whiteye pitched for the win and Owen Lemieux for the save.

The Bantam Chatham Diamonds faced North London in the final, with 5 lead changes in the championship game. Chatham was leading 7-5 heading into the 6th inning before the game was suspended due to darkness, but with fresh light Monday morning London rallied, going ahead 8-7.

With the game on the line, Caley Whiteye and Reid Goodburn both scored to put Chatham up 9-8. This was all they’d need as Brayden Larivire shut the door in the 7th, to hold onto the win, and earn the OBA title.

In the Minor Peewee final, Chatham faced the Stratford Nationals. Braden Twigg, who was strong all weekend for the Diamonds went 2-for-3, including a 2-run homer. Lucas Eddington pitched 6 strong innings for the victory 8-5.

Finally, the Minor Miaquito Chatham Diamonds dominated over the weekend, outscoring their opponents 68-23 in 6 games, including a lopsided championship win, taking the ‘A’ title with a 15-4 win over Innisfil in the final.
