Red Feather Week Wraps Up

It was a busy week of high school athletics across Chatham-Kent as Red Feather Week took place, with games and events benefitting the United Way.

Thursday night in front of a packed crowd, the CKSS Golden Hawks senior football team opened their season with a 24-6 win over the UCC Lancers.

Curtis Godfrey ran for 45-yards, including a rushing touchdown, and had 35 receiving yards, including a TD to lead the way for CKSS.

Reese Richmond had the other CKSS touchdown, while Braydon Turato kicked a 19-yard field goal.

Also in Senior football, Blenheim defeated JMSS 34-8.

Earlier this week, the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks captured the senior boys volleyball tournament title, and also won the annual softball tournament.

The LKCS Cardinals won the Red Feather dodgeball event.
