Spence Lifts Maroons To OT Win In Preseason Finale

The Chatham Maroons got their first win of the preseason, in their last preseason game on the heels of a Grant Spence double overtime penalty shot goal.

Facing the Sarnia Legionnaires Tuesday night in Chatham, the Maroons and Legionnaires played to a 6-6 regulation tie, before Spence scored on a penalty shot in double overtime to secure the win.

The goal was Spence’s fourth point of the night, after he picked up three assists on goals by Jake O’Donnell, Dylan Schives, and Noah Bushnell.

Newly acquired Steven Fowler scored a pair of goals, while returning veteran Bryce Yetman had a goal and two assists.

Thomas Michaud also picked up a pair of assists, and Kyle Droge made 26 saves for the win.
