Hawks Continue Winning

The Chatham-Kent Secondary School senior girls basketball team has put up several wins in the past week, including a league win over UCC Thursday night, and a second place finish at the Seneca College Tournament in Toronto last weekend.

On Thursday at UCC, Jessica Jordan paced the Golden Hawks with 11-points as they edged UCC 34-31 in LKSSAA regular season action. Reagan Kellier added 8-points.

At the Seneca College Sting tournament in Toronto this past weekend, CKSS played well, falling in the final. On Friday, the Hawks started off defeating University Toronto School 49-15 and then went on to defeat St Theresa of Lisieux 64-24. On Saturday, in the semi-final game, they faced a strong team from Richview, and ended up winning 42-32. In the finals, they played Stephen Leacock, and fell short in the end by a score of 55-42. Game all-stars for the 4 games were named to Jessica Jordan, Mary Turner, Jade Barko, and Jessica Conrod. Jessica Jordan was also selected as a tournament all-star.

In other senior girls high school action Thursday, the Wallaceburg Tartans fell 49-39 to the Sarnia St. Patrick’s, John McGregor Panthers beat Lambton Central 36-34, Pain Court edged Blenheim 29-25, Lambton-Kent lost to Great Lakes 48-40, and Ridgetown defeated North Lambton 41-16.
