The UCC Lancers will play host to the Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks Saturday afternoon for a 1pm kick off in the LKSSAA ‘AAA’ Junior football championship game.

The Lancers enter the game undefeated, sitting 7-0 in league play.

Their opponent, the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks enter 5-2 on the year. They beat St. Patrick’s 19-6 in the LKSSAA semi-final last week.

The Lancers will be playing for their 3rd straight Junior championship.

According to UCC coach Jim O’Brien, the Lancers hope to earn the victory by “remaining unpredictable on offence mixing pass and run and spreading the football around. On “D” they will attempt to controls C.K.’s ace back running attack, jet sweep and the deep ball. Disrupting their “O” with penetration at the line and sound tackling before they get started will be the key.”

Kick off is at 1pm at UCC.
